Tim began working at his family’s business in 1979.
He started working part-time as a field painter, and joined full-time upon graduating with a BA in Economics from UMass Amerherst in 1985. Working under his father and two uncles, Tim learned every aspect of the business. His responsibilities grew as the company grew, and Tim did everything from painting and managing employees, to project management and business development. In 2011, Tim was named President and he eventually took over the family business upon his father’s passing in 2012.
In his years with W.T. Kenney, Tim followed in his grandfather’s shoes by building strong and long-term relationships with clients, industry peers, and employees. Under his leadership, W.T. Kenney experienced tremendous growth in sales, customer reach, and its team of employees. Tim’s vision helped to move the company into the 21st century. His strategy of hiring the most talented and innovative employees is what he is most proud of.
In January 2023, Tim became the company’s CEO. With a desire to focus on the overall vision of the company and to work on personal and charitable projects, he has passed the baton to his nephew, Brian Jurgens, to lead W.T. Kenney in its day-to-day activities. Tim is a board member of Men with Heart, a Founding Board Member of Commercial Painting Industry Association (CPIA), and an active volunteer for Samaritans, and a member of the 100 Club of Boston.
Something you may not know about Tim is that he is a collector of rare U.S. coins and currency, and he is a history buff.
